Emma & Peter’s Palm House Wedding to be Published in Perfect Wedding Magazine

Emma & Peter were married last summer at The Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool. I was recently contacted by Perfect Wedding Magazine, as they wanted to feature one of my weddings as  Real Life Wedding in the magazine.

The magazine had a spring/summer wedding in mind, and after looking at various options they decided they would like to feature Emma & Peter’s wedding. They were both delighted to be featured, so a big thank you from me to Emma & Peter. When the magazine comes out I’ll post an update, but in the mean time, here are some of the images from the big day last year:

The Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool

The Palm House is a lovely, and very unique venue, set in the centre of Sefton Park in Liverpool.

I love sunny days like this, it brings out the smiles and makes for great natural photographs.

Emma looked stunning, and was beaming with happiness when she arrived.

Looking at this photo, you might be forgiven for thinking it was an outdoor wedding in a tropical location, but al fresco ceremonies aren’t very practical in this part of the world. One nice thing about the Palm House is that it’s like having an outdoor wedding, but without the risk of cold, wind and rain!

I love this shot of Emma with the sun silhouetting her from behind.

Emma’s lush bouquet matched her dress and the venue perfectly:

It’s really nice to cover the speeches, it gives me an opportunity to capture the guests reactions as well as the speakers.

The best man’s speech hit all the right notes, including the tradition of groom humiliation of course.

Wedding Album & Parent Books

I thought it would be nice to show you all what our Wedding Albums look like, so when Katy & Richard’s albums arrived  from Italy this morning I took a few photographs to show you all:

wedding photography album cover from knowsley hall in Liverpool

I photographed Katy & Richard’s wedding at Knowsley Hall in Liverpool, a really lovely venue. The wedding album has the transparent cover option. This is very durable and incorporates a full size image on the front cover.

The album pages lay flat, allowing an image to be spread out over two pages.

In addition to the main album, the optional parent books make a really nice gift for parents or family members. The parent books come in sets of 2 (or 4 smaller ones if you prefer), and include all the same pages and images as the main album.

Silver Award for Traditional Wedding Photography

This is my first Silver Award from the SWPP. It really came about as the inclement weather on Katy & Richard’s wedding day made it more practical to do the bride and groom portraits indoors. Anyway, we made the most of the beautiful surroundings at Knowsley Hall and ended up with some very nice portraits, of which this is my personal favourite, and it seems the SWPP judges liked it too:)

You can see more photographs from Katy & Richard’s wedding here.

By the way, I’ve included some technical details about this image and the other award winning images that I’ve uploaded today, just incase you are interested in what equipment and settings I’ve used. All 3 of the images at Knowsley hall were lit with an off-camera flash firing through a mobile soft-box (held by Stuart), the flash was gelled to match the ambient light temperature.

Bronze Award for Environmental Portraiture

This shot is from Katy & Richard’s pre-wedding shoot at Pier Head in Liverpool. We were able to make the most of the lovely late afternoon light. The bright circles behind Katy are from light reflecting off the side of a bus, and give a lovely effect known as bokeh.

You can see more photographs from this pre-wedding shoot here.

Hayley & David’s Wedding at Saint Chad’s in Kirkby and The Suites Hotel, Knowsley

I shot Hayley and David’s wedding on the 7th of August. They were such a happy couple to work with. Hayley just didn’t stop smiling! The whole day had such a lovely atmosphere, and I think it was evident from the photos how much fun was had by all:-)
Pretty flowers!Hayley was such a relaxed bride.Look at that tiny waist!

The sun was trying to break through those clouds…meanwhile, the groom was looking a little nervous. The guests started coming.I grabbed the groom for a few quick portraits. Not showing the nerves so much!A proud Mother of the Bride…
and the lovely bridesmaids before going up to the church.

Wow!
How proud does Hayley’s dad look? A serious moment for the boys…
and the girls.

Has he got the rings?!
The church was huge! The architecture was stunning. The new Mr and Mrs!The sun came out after the exit of the bride and groom.
I really loved the orange theme. The bouquet really stood out.Checking out the rings.David looking very sharp.I love this one:-)Soooo pretty!
Hayley was a natural in front of the camera! How happy do they look!?The speeches were hilarious…
